WordPress Installation

Let's start with our Theme Installation Process

Before getting started you need to be sure that you have installed the latest version of WordPress and Christmas Shop WordPress Theme.

If you haven't installed WordPress yet. You can download Fresh WordPress for installation from Wordpress.org.

But, if you have already installed WordPress, Please make sure that you have the latest version of WordPress. If you need an update then you will get update notice on the left side of admin dashboard as shown in the figure below.

If you get such notification, you can just click on the link "Please Update Now". Once You press the button WordPress will be updated to latest version.

Theme Installation

There are two methods for the Installation of Christmas Shop WordPress Theme.Among them, you can upload zipped theme file using WordPress Theme installer(which we recommend).You can also upload unzipped theme folder via FTP(which is advanced).

Here is the full step of installation of Christmas Shop WordPress Theme using both methods.

First Method:

1.Log In to your WordPress Theme and the Administrative Panel Opens.

2. Go to Appearance > Themes in the WordPress Dashboard.

3. Now click on Add Button

4. Click on Upload button

5.After that Click on Choose File Button

6. Select the Christmas Shop WordPress Theme.zip file from your computer then Click on Upload Button.

7.Finally, Click on Install Now Button.

Second Method:

1. First of all Unzip the  "Christmas Shop WordPress Theme.zip" file from your computer.

2.To access your host web server Log In by using FTP Client.

3.Locate the wp-content folder in your WordPress installation files.

4.Upload the un-zipped Christmas Shop WordPress Theme into the:wp-content/folder.

Theme Activation

1. Log In to the WordPress Dashboard Admin Panel.

2. Then, go to Appearance > Theme in the WordPress menu.

3. Finally, Hover over the thumbnail and click on Activate Button.

Plugin Installation

Start Installing Plugin

Follow the following steps to install a Plugin for your WordPress Dashboard Administration Panel:

1.Go to Plugins > Add New.

2. Search for the name of Plugin you wish to install which will return a list of potential plugins.

3.Click on Detail to read more information about a Plugin.

4.Now if you want to install click on "Install Now" Button.

5.It may ask you that if you are sure and you may proceed. The installation may begin after you confirm to proceed.

6.After the Plugin is installed then go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.

7.Click Activate Plugin to make it available for use.

Plugins Recommendation

1) WooCommerce by WordPress.com, by: Automattic

This Plugin provides you a variety of Complementary features for your Theme.

2)  Regenerate Thumbnails

This Plugin will help you to update your image thumbnails sizes if you have already installed.

3) Contact Form Seven

It allows you to display and manage contact form on your website.

Home Page Setup

To add a new page

You must first create a new page to set up the homepage.

1.First go to Pages > Add New.

2. Enter the Page Title of the Page. For creating a homepage do not require to enter anything in the content section.

3.Select the homepage template from the Page Attributes section.

4. Click on Publish Button.

Configure of the front Page display setting

1.First go to Appearance>Customize > Default Settings> Static Front Page.

2. Select A Static Page below Front Page Displays.

3.Choose the page you just created as Frontpage.( If your WordPress installation is fresh you do not need to follow this step).

4. Click Save & Publish button.

Site Identity

To set up site identity

1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Default Setting > Site Identity.

2.Click Select Logo button.

3.Select and Upload the desired image.

4.Enter the Site Title and Tagline.

5. Check Display Header Text for the site title and tagline appear on your homepage.

6. Click Select Image button below Site Icon.

7. Select the desired image and upload it.(The Site Icon/ favicon is used as a browser and app icon for your site. The recommended Site Icon size is 512*512 pixels.)

8: Click Save & Publish Button.

Colors

To set up background colors

1.Firstly go to Appearance > Customize > Default Settings > Colors.

2.By clicking on respective Select Color button change the Background Color.

3.Finally, Click on Save & Publish button.

Background Image

To set background image

1. Firstly go to Appearance > Customize > Default Settings > Background Image.

2.Click Select Image button.

3.Select and Upload a background image.

4.Click Save & Publish Button.

Homepage Setting

Slider Setting

Activate Slider

1. Go to Appearance > Home Page Setting > Slider Setting.

2.To show the featured slider the homepage check Enable Home Page Slider.

3.Select the post that you want to display in the slider.(slider images displayed will be the selected post of featured images).

a.Featured image of the post should be at least 1140px in width and 550px in height for displaying slider images properly.

b. If you have uploaded any image use regenerate thumbnail Plugin to crop all the images.

4.Click Save & Publish.

Slider Setting

Configuration of Slider

1.For the slides transition automatically (auto scroll) without a click. Check Enable Slider to Auto Transition.

2. To continue the slide transition in the loop, Check Enable Slider Loop.

3. To allow manual navigation for paging control of each slide, Check Enable Slide Control.

4.To Show the title of the post to appear on the slider post image, Check Enable Slider Caption.

5.To show the tiny thumbnail feature images of the slider Posts to appear at the bottom, Check Enable Slider Thumbnail.

6. Select the Slider Animation type to "slide" or "fade".

7.To set the text of the button, Enter the Readmore text.

8.Enter Slider Speed: It set the Interval(in milliseconds) at which the slider should change posts (if an automatic transition is enabled). Default: 400(0.4 seconds).

9.Click Publish Button.

Home page Setting

Contact Us

1.Go to Appearance > Customize > Homepage Setting > Contact Us Section.

2.Check Enable Contact Us Section.

3.Select a Page for Contact Section.The Title and the content of the selected page will appear as a description of the section on the page.

4.Text Contact Now on CTA First Button.

5.Enter URL for CTA First Button Link.

6. Click on Publish Button.

Homepage Setting

Welcome

1.Go to Appearance > Customize > Homepage Setting > Welcome Section.

2.Check Enable Welcome Section.

3.Select page from Drop-down.

4.Click Publish button.

Blog Section

1.Go to Appearance > Customize > Homepage Setting >Blog Section.

2.Check Enable Blog Section.

3.Check Posts Date, Author, Comment Category.

4.Select page from Drop-down.

5.Select Blog Category from Drop-down.

6.Select Blog Selection Read More Text from Drop-down.

7.Enter URL for Blog Page URL.

8.Click on Publish button.

Service Section

1.Go to Appearance > Customize > Homepage Setting > Service Section.

2.Check Enable Service Setting.

3.Check  Show Front Icon(Display font icon and hide thumbnail).

4.Select page from Drop-down.

5.Select Service Post 1 and FontAwesome Icon1 from the drop-down and so on.

6.Click Publish button.

Portfolio Setting

1.Go to Appearance > Customize > Homepage Setting  > Portfolio Setting.

2.Check Enable Portfolio Section.

3.Select Page from Drop-down.

4.Select Post 1 and so on from Drop-down.

5.Select Portfolio Section Read More Text from textbox.

6.Enter Portfolio Page URL  from textbox.

7.Click on Publish button.

1.If you want to enable breadcrumb, Check Enable Breadcrumb.

2.Check Show Current.

3.Select Breadcrumb HomepageText from Textbox.

4.Select Breadcrumb Separator from the textbox.

5.Click Publish button.

Topography Setting

1.Go to Appearance > Customize > Topography Setting.

2.Select Font from Drop-down.

3.Click on Publish button.

1.Go to Appearance > Customize > Menus.

2.Click on Create New Menu button.

3.Enter a name to your menu in Menu Name then click Primary(Current: Main Menu) And on Next button.

4.Click on Add item button.

5.Click on View Location then select Menu Name from Drop-down under Primary Menu.

6.Click on Publish button.

Widgets

1.Go to Appearance > Customize > Widgets.

2.Click on Add Widget.

3.Select widget from widget list of the sidebar of the customer.

4.Click on Publish button.

5.Similarly, You can create Footer sidebar one, Footer sidebar two and so on.
